It’s that time of the year when plumes of wildfire smoke rise into the Eastern sky and fall in gray particulate layers on our cars and tractors and porches. It’s too hot to believe that we need to make haste in preparing the next batch of crops for our annual trial load.

Stable and Able
When the sun is out like this in February, you can almost smell the spray season just around the corner, maybe even earlier than last year. We pulled the steeds from the stable and gave them a thorough scrub down and once-over to be sure they’re ready for the long days ahead.
2021 : Year in Review
At FieldLab, we look forward to the start of each new season. This year, before the new things begin in earnest, we thought it would be interesting to look back at a few of the highlights from 2021 that contributed to one of our best seasons to date.
Stalwart Simplicity
The truth of the matter is that if there were no Danny Hicks, there would likely be no FieldLab.
Within Our Grasp
The peach orchard that used to occupy this ground was in its waning years. Dead primaries hung reluctantly from a stump, tangled in tie twine as the remaining few live branches tried to put forth decent fruit in a sandy strip that runs diagonally through the property.
